Sersa Switzerland also operates efficient maintenance workshops for rail vehicles such as locomotives and freight wagons, for example in Rümlang and Lonay near Lausanne. Sersa Switzerland additionally has maintenance workshops for track-laying machines in Effretikon, Hinwil, Weinfelden and Landquart.

These are certified in accordance with the principles of the Europe-wide recognised maintenance standard ECM (entity in charge of maintenance, all four levels) and the VPI standard (maintenance and repair of freight wagons). Maintenance work on rail vehicles is not only carried out in the Sersa’s own workshops themselves, but on request also directly at the customer's premises. This means that the traction equipment - locomotives, but also freight cars, etc. - does not have to be transported to a Sersa maintenance workshop, but can be maintained or repaired directly on site, if possible.

Our customers particularly appreciate the fact that this maintenance work can also be carried out when the rail vehicles are not in use (e.g. on Saturdays).This significantly increases the availability of the vehicles to the benefit of the customers.
