The business field manager work in the commercial area about his career at Rhomberg Bahntechnik.

My lucky coincidence

My career with Rhomberg Bahntechnik began 8 years ago, more or less by chance. At that time, I worked as a project manager/buyer for a large construction company and was looking for a new professional challenge. I came across a Rhomberg Bahntechnik job advertisement on Xing. The interview on site went very well, so I changed companies.

Looking back, the following reasons convinced me to change: "you can play a full part here", "we are building something for the future here", "we have interesting areas".

My varied area of work

As a business field manager, I work in the commercial area of railway technology. There is no room for boredom in this area of work, as my duties are extremely varied. I am responsible for the complete commercial support of the business units. They consist of subsidiaries, the areas in railway technology up to the individual projects. The activities can be described with keywords such as purchasing, controlling, contract management, clarification of tax issues, liquidity planning, etc.

It' s a big field of activity and to get these different tasks and responsibilities under one roof is certainly one of the biggest challenges for me. Knowing that I am doing my part, I am proud to see how the different areas are flourishing.

I generally find it exciting to work in a future-oriented industry such as the railway sector. Sustainable mobility solutions are in high demand. Many more projects are in the pipeline. Sustainability is basically a value that is lived out in our company and that our management takes seriously, which I appreciate very much.

The feel-good factor is right

Why do I still enjoy being here after 8 years? I like the atmosphere in our company, it's about working together and not against each other. I still have the feeling, metaphorically speaking, that everyone is pulling on the same rope and - importantly - in the same direction. I like the flat hierarchies, the freedom I am given, the collegial relationship with each other and the knowledge that I can rely on my colleagues at any time. Further training such as mental coaching, legal seminars, personality development seminars and company outings, such as a snowshoe hike on the Hintertux glacier, also provide a constant source of variety.

Why are you a “milestone-setter“?

"As a milestone-setter, I provide a structure for the various goals we strive for as a business. I am responsible for creating the framework conditions for achieving these goals. I prepare measures accordingly and monitor and coordinate them. I bring structure in the implementation process."
