Personnel Changes at the Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group

Garry Thuer becomes new CTO of the Overall Group. Robert Kumpusch follows as Managing Director Rhomberg Bahntechnik. New Managing Director Sersa Maschineller Gleisbau AG is Mirko Sennhauser.

Bregenz/Zurich, March 6, 2019 – The international rail technology business Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group is starting into the new fiscal year with a number of personnel decisions: The previous CEO International and Managing Director Rhomberg Bahntechnik, Garry Thür, is becoming CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of the overall group from April 1, 2019. His previous function as Managing Director for the Rhomberg Bahntechnik is taken over by Robert Kumpusch. He is returning from Switzerland, where he was Managing Director of the Sersa Maschineller Gleisbau (SMG). This is where Mirko Sennhauser is now starting. It is the aim “to develop our business strategically stable and profitable“, as Group-CEO Thomas Bachhofner explains.

For this, Garry Thür is appointed as Chief Technology Officer of the overall group. He is there responsible for the technological development and the product development of the Austrian-Swiss rail technology specialist. “This is part of our strategic decision, to sustainably strengthen and develop our position as technology leader in our segment with targeted investments“ so Bachhofner. In the future Garry Thür will be still responsible for the international markets Australia, UK und Canada.

Robert Kumpusch changes within the Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group as Managing Director to the Rhomberg Bahntechnik to Bregenz. Before he was in the same function responsible for the SMG AG in Switzerland. “During that time he has made a significant contribution to the successful further development of the Sersa Maschineller Gleisbau AG and has helped strengthen its position on the market ”, Owner Representative Konrad Schnyder says. “The changes enables Robert Kumpusch to be more active in the project business again.“ Kumpusch has been able to gain experience in this area as Overall Project Manager for the large projects Access Brenner North and Lötschberg tunnel among others.

Mirko Sennhauser joins the group as a new member. He follows Kumpusch as Managing Director of the SMG AG. The Swiss-born has been working for the KIBAG Bauleistungen AG since 2007. Most recently, he was responsible for the Construction Division and a subdivision of Soil Recycling and was also part of the management team. “Mirko Sennhauser brings a good network to our market and has great project and transformation experience “, CEO Bachhofner is happy. “This enables us a targeted response to the changed customer requirements. We are convinced to have found a competent and engaged Managing Director with him .“
