RSRG on board for the Residenzbahn alliance project with partner REIF

Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group, together with ARGE partner REIF, has won another alliance project with the Residenzbahn.

Following the Gäubahn North expansion, the construction of the ICE maintenance halls in the "New Cottbus Plant," and the rail equipment installation for the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group, together with ARGE partner REIF, has secured another alliance project with the Residenzbahn. This project in Southern Germany is also being implemented by Deutsche Bahn as a Rail Partnership Model.

The Residenzbahn involves the consolidation of several sub-projects along the Stuttgart-Karlsruhe rail corridor – from planning permission to commissioning – as a single comprehensive project. These sub-projects include, among other things, the modification of track facilities in Pforzheim and Wilferdingen-Singen to allow overtaking by 740-meter-long freight trains to increase network capacity (740m Network Program), the renewal of a signal box, and the renewal of a multi-track railway overpass in the heart of Pforzheim. The remodeling measures also affect the entire railway technology (overhead line, signaling, lighting, 50 Hz, and telecommunications installations), which is also part of the project scope.

On February 14, we, along with Deutsche Bahn and the alliance partners – Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group and REIF Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG, OBERMEYER Group, Schüßler-Plan, LEONHARD WEISS GmbH & Co. KG, and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG – signed the corresponding multi-party contract. An initial joint workshop was held to align our cooperation for the future. The goal of the Rail Partnership Model is to accelerate processes by involving all alliance partners early and allowing them to participate actively. This involves signing a multi-party contract – a contract with all contractors, rather than a bilateral contract with a single contractor.
