Nature of the Work

Rhomberg Rail Australia delivered the Moorebank Intermodal rail works for CPB Contractors and the ultimate client, Qube Logistics.

The Moorebank project is Australia’s largest logistics development and will incorporate the latest automated freight handling technology.

At full capacity, the Moorebank Logistics Park will:

  • Cut more than 3,000 heavy truck movements from Sydney’s roads each day
  • Reduce truck emissions by a total of more than 110,000 tCO2e (tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent) per year
  • Reduce the distance travelled by container trucks on Sydney’s road network by 150,000 kilometres every day, and the distance travelled by long distance interstate freight trucks by 93,000 kilometres every day
  • Create 6,800 jobs

Project Outcomes

As with all large contract works, there have been callenges faced along the way but RRA as a team overcame these issues and delivered the works by the due date expected from our client.

We have gained some new personnel throughout this project and it has been a great learning ground for all staff within the team. We received great feedback from varying levels at CPB Contractors and it is all extremely positive.

Quotes

“RRA staff did an excellent job and I will be pushing to have the team on the next project I deliver.”
